The named schools are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> R\u012bga State Technical School (<em>R\u012bgas Valsts tehnikums<\/em>),<\/li>\n<li> Liepaja State Technical School (<em>Liep\u0101jas Valsts tehnikums<\/em>),<\/li>\n<li> Ventspils Vocational Secondary School (<em>Ventspils Profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>),<\/li>\n<li> State Kandava Agricultural Technical School (<em>Valsts Kandavas Lauksaimniec\u012bbas tehnikums<\/em>),<\/li>\n<li> Riga Technical College (<em>R\u012bgas Tehnisk\u0101 koled\u017ea<\/em>), and<\/li>\n<li> Jelgava Crafts Secondary School (<em>Jelgavas Amatniec\u012bbas vidusskola<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><br \/>\nFor a vocational education establishment to become a competence centre, it must meet several <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>criteria<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <strong>Number of education programmes implemented<\/strong> \u2013 not less than ten different accredited vocational education programmes in at least five different groups of vocational secondary education programmes;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <strong>Number of students<\/strong> \u2013 in Riga at least 700 students, in other administrative areas \u2013 at least 500 students;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <strong>Students\u2019 school results<\/strong> \u2013 during the last two school years average results of centralized professional qualification examinations should not be lower than optimal level of mastery (i.e. not less than 6 points of 10);<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <strong>Performed methodological functions<\/strong> \u2013 functions of regional or sectoral methodological centre, teacher further education centre and validation of professional competence acquired outside the formal education system in the relevant fields (in collaboration with sectoral organizations and companies), coordinates the organization of the centralized professional qualification exams on regional or national scale;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"> <strong>Cooperation with employers<\/strong> \u2013 performs cooperation with the relevant employers&#8217; organizations or their associations at national, sectoral or regional level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the vocational education programmes implemented by these schools, it is planned to apply a 10% additional payment according to the number of students.
