State Education Development Agency (SEDA) organized workshop \u201cProfessional development for experts\u201d on 18 July 2018, in which \u201cEuroSkills 2018\u201d Latvian team experts met for the first time to familiarize themselves with main tasks of the competition.<\/p>\n

During the meeting experts learned theoretical knowledge as well as practically dealt with non-standard situations.<\/p>\n
International mastery competition for young professionals \u201cEuroSkills 2018\u201d will take place in Budapest from 26 to 28 September 2018 and nearly 600 young professionals from 28 European countries will take part in this competition. Ten candidates will be selected among twenty-eight students from Latvian vocational education institutions.<\/p>\n
Young professionals representing Latvia will be chosen from trades such as:
\n\u2022 tiling;
\n\u2022 fashion technology;
\n\u2022 information and communication technologies;
\n\u2022 electrical installations;
\n\u2022 restaurant services;
\n\u2022 Web page development;
\n\u2022 heavy vehicle repair and maintenance;
\n\u2022 graphic design;
\n\u2022 window design;
\n\u2022 cooking.<\/p>\n
Each country may enter one competitor or team per trade. The competition is held every two years in one of the \u201cWorldSkills Europe\u201d member states.<\/p>\n
