{"id":1358,"date":"2013-01-31T10:50:25","date_gmt":"2013-01-31T08:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.refernet.lv\/?p=1358"},"modified":"2013-01-31T10:50:25","modified_gmt":"2013-01-31T08:50:25","slug":"government-supports-the-second-round-for-modernising-vocational-education-establishments-22-01-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/refernet.aic.lv\/?p=1358&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Government supports the second round for modernising vocational education establishments (22.01.2013)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>On 22 January 2013<\/strong>, the government approved the project of Cabinet Regulations \u201c<strong>Regulations on implementing the second project selection round of the Action Programme \u201cInfrastructure and Services\u201d supplement 3.1.1.1. activity \u201cModernisation of education facilities and improvement of infrastructure for implementing vocational education programmes\u201d<\/strong>\u201d, which was elaborated by the Ministry of Education and Science.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The total amount of funding allocated to this activity is around EUR 129.054 million, of which EUR 120.282 million is co-financed by the ERDF and EUR 8.784 million \u2013 by the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The support is expected to be received by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">11 vocational education establishments<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Austrumlatgale Vocational Secondary School (<em>Austrumlatgales Profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 12 126 241;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cesis Vocational Secondary School (<em>C\u0113su Profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 3 276 771;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Daugavpils Vocational Secondary School of Builders (<em>Daugavpils Celtnieku profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 9 513 541;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Daugavpils State Technical School (<em>Daugavpils Valsts tehnikums<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 11 303 042;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ogre State Technical School (<em>Ogres Valsts tehnikums<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 12 632 827;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vocational Education Competence Centre \u201cLiepaja State Technical School\u201d (<em>profesion\u0101l\u0101s izgl\u012bt\u012bbas kompetences centrs \u201eLiep\u0101jas Valsts tehnikums\u201d<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 18 807 941;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vocational Education Competence Centre \u201cR\u012bga State Technical School\u201d (<em>profesion\u0101l\u0101s izgl\u012bt\u012bbas kompetences centrs \u201eR\u012bgas Valsts tehnikums\u201d<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 9 566 741;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jelgava State Technical School (<em>Jelgavas Tehnikums<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 15 524 113;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Smiltene Technical School \u2013 Vocational Secondary School (<em>Smiltenes Valsts tehnikums \u2013 profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 8 722 487;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Valmiera Vocational Secondary School (<em>Valmieras Profesion\u0101l\u0101 vidusskola<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 12 094 410;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ventspils Technical School (<em>Ventspils Tehnikums<\/em>) \u2013 EUR 15 498 082.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An essential requirement for vocational schools to receive the funding is that vocational education establishment designs and harmonizes with the Ministry of Education and Science the strategy on investments and development. The document should impart information about the planned investments and the development of vocational education programme offer. The deadline for submitting project applications for the second round is 29 November 2013.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the regulations, the project applications should also include a statement of certified construction engineer regarding the planned dates when the construction works would be completed and buildings would be ready for occupation. In addition, starting date for construction works should be indicated.
